Anne Pe ist eine Singer/Songwriterin aus dem Schwarzwald.

Ende der 90er in Berlin  fand sie – nach neun Monaten Reisen und Arbeiten in Australien – eine neue (musikalische) Heimat. Sieben Jahre blieb sie dort – lange genug um erste eigene Songs zu schreiben, als Straßenmusikerin mit ihrer Gitarre durch Ostberliner Kneipen zu tingeln, ein paar Demos aufzunehmen und eine Ausbildung zur Musiktherapeutin zu machen.
Vor allem dem Wald und der Berge wegen hat sie die Großstadtlichter wieder gegen die grünen Hänge Südwestdeutschlands eingetauscht, wo sie heute auch wohnt. Mit Blick auf den nahen Bergrücken und in sternenstillen Nächten webt sie an ihren schönen, zarten Songideen um uns in märchenhafte Sphären zu entführen. Ihre meist englischsprachigen Lieder handeln von tiefen, aufrichtigen Gefühlen, von Sehnsüchten und einer besonderen Sensibilität, die mal hoffnungsvoll, mal melancholisch, mal naturverbunden aufleuchtet. „Die einzige Alternative für mich, nicht in Nähe der Berge zu leben, wäre am Meer zu wohnen“, sagt sie. Kein Wunder also, dass sich in ihren Texten Metaphern wie Meeresleuchten und Ozeangrund finden und wir dazu aufgefordert werden, „Worte ins Wasser und in die Zeit zu schreiben“. 

Im Juni 2017  erschien Annes erstes full-length Album „Glowing Seas“ – ein authentisches Geflecht aus gebündelter Bildsprache, farbstarken Melodien und bestrickend schöner Klangwelt. Produziert hat es Chris Német und ihm scheint jene Producer-Finesse gelungen zu sein, die der gelegentlichen Enttäuschung beim Hören einer CD nach einem charmanten, kleinen Livekonzert vorbeugt – Indie-Folk-anmutender Songsound, wie grungige E-Gitarren und betörende Backing-Chants, Mandoline und Kontrabass – jedoch ohne die kraftvolle Poesie der Lyrics zu verdecken. Ein Song des Albums war im UK Songwriting Contest 2016 unter den Finalisten, fünf weitere landeten unter den Semi-Finals.

In Presse und Radio kam das Album sehr gut an  – Anne war beim SWR1 zum Interview und zur unplugged session zu Gast; SWR3, SWR4, NDR, Bremen Zwei, hr2, sowie viele online stations haben ihre Musik gespielt. Die „ELLE“ hat ihren Song „Seagull“ als Soundtrack zu einem Reiseziel in Italien empfohlen und das renommierte Musikmagazin „Schall“ schrieb ein tolle Rezension über das Album. Die „Akustik Gitarre“ portraitierte sie und dazu gab es das Titellied des Albums „Glowing Seas“ auf der Heft-CD.

»Manche Erlebnisse, Begegnungen, Straßenszenen und Bilder Berlins haben sich tief in mein ´Songwriting-Gedächtnis´ eingegraben«.  So auch das starke Bild eines alten Kassettenbandes, das aufgehudelt auf dem Gehweg lag und einige Jahre später in einen Song gewebt wurde.
Bei ihrem ersten Fernsehauftritt im März 2018 in der Sendung „Kaffee oder Tee“ des SWR, hat sie das Lied mit ihrer Band dort live gespielt.

Musik einer Songwriterin, die eine gefühlvolle Mischung aus mystischen und persönlichen Urbildern aufzeichnet. Wer von einer Welt der Obercoolness die Nase voll hat, ist hier als Hörer wahrscheinlich goldrichtig.

Anne Pe is a singer-songwriter from the Black Forest region, Germany.

Berlin at the end of the 90s was where she found a new (musical) home. After nine months travelling and living in Australia, Anne stayed in the vibrant city for seven years – long enough to write her first songs, to pass through the East Berlin pubs as a street musician, record a few demos and train as a music therapist.
Eventually, the forest and the mountains summoned her to swap the big city lights for the green slopes of South-West Germany, where she lives today. With a view of the nearby mountain ridge and in „starstill“ nights, she weaves here beautiful, delicate song ideas to take us away to fairy tale spheres.
Her songs, mostly written in English deal with deep, sincere feelings, of yearning and a particular sensitivity which moves from hope, to melancholy and nature. “If I didn’t live next to the mountains, the only alternative for me would be to live by the sea,” she says. So, it’s unsurprising her texts find metaphors such as “hearts without a sail“ and we are asked to “write words in water and time.”

In June 2017, she released her first full-length album “Glowing Seas”
It is an authentic lattice of bundled imagery, colourful melodies and a captivating beautiful soundscape. Produced by Chris Német, who has managed to attain that producer finesse which prevents that disillusion of listening to a CD following a charming small live concert – with grungy E-guitars and enchanting backing chants, mandolin and double bass – however without smothering the powerful poetry of the lyrics.
One of the songs on the album was nominated for the finals in the UK Songwriting Contest 2016, five others were in the semi-finals.

The album received airplay in several big radio stations in (South) Germany as SWR1, SWR3, SWR4 and NDR. The German „ELLE“ recommended Anne`s song „Seagull“ and several prestigious music magazines (Schall, Akustik Gitarre, Hifi Stars,…)  wrote words of praise.

In March 2018, her single „Tonband Berlin“ was released – an acoustic ballad, for a change  in German. The old cassette tape she once found in the street of her neighbourhood in Berlin wound its way along the pavement. Reminding her of the Songlines of Aboriginal people in Australia, she ties together old and new ideas about an inspiring street discovery. A week after the release of her new single, she had her first appearance on German television in the SWR`s show „Kaffee oder Tee“ in March 2018 where she played the song live with her band.

Music from a songwriter portraying an emotional melange of mystical and personal archetypes. If you have had enough of the ubercoolness of the world, then you are most probably in the right place.
